Gauge theories in condensed matter systems

Gauge theories play an important role in high-energy physics. Gauge theories can also emerge as an effective description in condensed matter systems such as frustrated magnets and atomic simulators. I will use specific systems to illustrate the ideas. Furthermore, I will introduce recent efforts in realizing gauge theories in condensed matter systems and discuss possible experiments.
